About the Steuben County Democratic Committee

How We Are Organized

The Steuben County Democratic Committee (SCDC) is the grassroots, ground-floor organizing body of the Democratic Party in Steuben County, and its foundation is the base of registered Democrats. SCDC members are elected by Democratic voters to represent each of the county's approximately 55 election districts (EDs), with up to two members per district. All members who represent EDs in the same municipality form a town, village, or city committee, and those committees unite to form the county committee. SCDC members elect our county's representatives on the New York State Democratic Committee (NYSDC), and NYSDC members elect New York’s representatives to the Democratic National Committee.

The SCDC invites interested community members to get involved. We can always use volunteers and qualified candidates. Contact us today.
