The Steuben County Democratic Party is gratified by Judge Allen Wheat’s ruling in favor of Mahlon Lautzenhenhiser, Democratic candidate for Circuit Court Clerk. The decision affirmed Mr. Lautzenhiser’s contention that his voter registration was improperly cancelled by the clerk’s office in the 2009 purge of county vote rolls, an action which made him ineligible for a place on the 2010 general election ballot. Also affirmed by Judge Wheat’s ruling is the confidence of the Steuben County Democratic Party in the appointment of Mr. Lautzenhiser to the local ballot. “Mahlon understood the county maintenance process, and didn’t back down when his knowledge of correct procedures was challenged,” said Judy Rowe, county Democratic Chairperson. “We’re proud to have him represent us as our candidate for Clerk of the Circuit Court.”
